Sharing Spaces Exhibition

About the event

Sharing Spaces is an exhibition by Magna Żmien Foundation that brings Malta’s community archives into a shared public setting, creating new encounters between personal memory and collective history. Through photographs, home movies, sound recordings and other material donated by individuals and families, the exhibition explores how everyday experiences shape the stories we inherit and pass on. Rather than treating archives as static records of the past, Sharing Spaces presents them as living resources that can spark conversation, recognition and connection across generations. Visitors are invited to engage with the people, places and moments preserved within the collection, while reflecting on the importance of safeguarding vulnerable audiovisual heritage. Taking place at APS Hub in St Julian’s from 29 November to 8 December 2026, the exhibition celebrates the generosity of those who share their memories and Magna Żmien’s ongoing work to preserve, digitise and make Malta’s cultural memory accessible to the public.
